Should I hire a personal trainer?

Updated: Feb 11, 2020

Reasons to consider hiring a personal trainer.

These days we are really lucky when it comes to health and fitness.  As we live in pretty exciting times, when it has become the social norm to train on a regular basis, it is much easier to stay healthy and fit.

Fitness has become a social network for most of us, and it is not unusual to drop into various classes a week. We can choose from a wide range of classes available.

Unfortunately, with all the options and free resources available, some of us may still not be getting the benefits of their exercise sessions and not achieving the desired results.

If you find it difficult to change your body shape, do not see the difference, and struggle to make classes work, or are at the beginning of your fitness journey, then you may want to consider hiring a personal trainer.

Whatever you train for: specific event, wedding, weight loss, athletic purposes, a personal trainer will always support, motivate and guide you to your end goal.

There are a number of reasons people work with personal trainers. While making a decision, consider the 5 main reasons for hiring a personal trainer.

  1. Personal Trainers help to set realistic goals. It is impossible to achieve your goals straight away. Thanks to the extensive knowledge, qualifications and experience only your personal trainer will be able to understand exactly how your body works. Together, you will be able to define achievable goals and plan how to meet them. Your personal trainer will create a targeted workout routine specific to your goals and needs taking into consideration your current physical condition and medical background (if applicable).

  2. Personal Trainers help to avoid potential injuries. The risk of injury is something that your personal trainer will work on hard to minimise when training you. It is your hired personal trainer’s main responsibility to make sure your workouts are safe, the risks of potential injuries and overtraining are minimised, so nothing is taking you away from achieving your goals.

  3. Personal trainers help you form good habits. Forming good habits without any help can be a mission. This is where your personal trainer comes with a helping hand, pointing you in the right direction and keeping you on track to achieve your individual fitness goals.

  4. Personal Trainers build confidence and motivate. Your personal trainer will not only show you the correct way to use equipment in the gym but also will become your unofficial therapist, by improving your overall wellbeing. Supporting you in those moments when you feel like you can’t do one more rep or keep going for one more minute will always lead to releasing endorphins.  Those moments will have an incredible impact on your confidence and motivation levels.

  5. Personal Trainers fit into your schedule. If the only time you have available to train is at your lunch break, an early hour before work, or mid-afternoon before the kids come home from school, your personal trainer will always understand your abilities and tailor appointment times to suit you.
